She is completely new to Mac OS X so she didn't have idea if something automatically updated on the notebook, probably some update poped up and she proceeded to update. Well no matter how the issue happened I instructed her how to install TeamViewer (for Mac OS X – just download the.DMG.
The reality with most multi-platform software solutions is that, concentrating on the Mac version of your software is a requirement, but ultimately is only appeasing a fraction of your total user base. Still, Mac users to tend to let their voices be heard when it comes to reporting software bugs or inequalities between the Mac and PC versions of software.
New Features for Mac in TeamViewer 10 TeamViewer has listened to the Mac community and with TeamViewer 10 has included many new features. Plus, by leveraging a new feature within Mac OS X Yosemite, TeamViewer 10 specifically adds one great new feature to the Mac user experience. TeamViewer Toolbar for Mac OS X Yosemite The biggest change is seen in the remote control session window.
With TeamViewer 10 on Yosemite, the TeamViewer toolbar is now placed in the top of the session window. This makes it easier to access the menus that may be hidden underneath it. Customize TeamViewer QuickJoin for Mac With TeamViewer 10 you can also now create customized QuickJoin and Host modules for Mac. Plus, a full-featured whiteboard is now available in both meetings and remote control sessions. Application Selection for Mac Another great new feature on the Mac version of TeamViewer 10 is the ability to select specific apps to screen share during meetings. This means that you don’t have to share your entire screen, but only a specific program that’s running, say PowerPoint for example. If you’re a Mac user, you’ll love TeamViewer 10.
Give it a try today. Hi, I’m using the latest Teamviewer 10 on Mavericks 10.9.5. (I downgraded my OS because of too many bugs in a clean installed Yosemite 10.10.1) When I have a meeting – I start a presentation and my webcam on my rMBP13 turns on and stays lit the whole time. I tried disabling it in the changing it to the other option by making it “Manual”, but it didn’t do anything.
How can I completely hide the hardware from Teamviewer? I also want to disable audio capability as I use Skype for that. Also, there’s a very high CPU usage for the whole duration of the meeting especially if I assign a participant as a presenter.
Why is this happening? Hello Hoon, Thank you for your message. The webcam should turn automatically on only when you start a video call.
If you start a presentation the video has to be turned on manually and therefore also the webcam should not turn on before starting the video. We would gladly help you to resolve the issue with the webcam. I would therefore kindly ask you to contact our support department so that they can look into the issue you are having and help you further. Also the CPU usage needs to be analyzed by our support team.
You can open a support ticket here: If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. Thanks for the reply. I completely forgot about that I posted here, and googled for “teamviewer high cpu usage osx” and found this thread. I submitted a ticket for support as it’s still a problem. As for workarounds, I am using a script that disables the iSight webcam from the laptop so that TeamViewer doesn’t see the existence of the webcam at the cost of not being available for the user either. The second problem about high CPU usage, I’m using an app called AppPolice that limits the maximum CPU usage per app, and allowing TeamViewer to only use 25% CPU max. Without this limitation, it just gobbles up all the CPUs and shoots up to 180% CPU usage on my rMBP13 (Haswell) and heating up pretty bad with rapid battery usage.
Limiting the CPU usage doesn’t have any negative effect for the meeting. I hope the tech support people can solve this issue with later builds as it is still a big problem for OSX users. Hello Jim, Thank you for your message. TeamViewer is a software for remote support and online meetings. It is not a malware. If you don’t want to use TeamViewer, please follow the instructions below to completely remove TeamViewer from your Mac: 1.
Open the TeamViewer application. Click on TeamViewer on the top left corner. Go to Preferences Advanced and scroll to the bottom of the panel. Once there, you will find the Uninstall button which will allow you to do just that. Make sure you check the option “Also delete configuration files”. If you have any further questions about TeamViewer, please feel free to contact us again.
Hello, I’m using yosemite on my macbook pro and win 8.1 on my inspiron 15 3000 dual touch laptop. When I’m playing a video on my pc the audio plays fine while viewing it with teamviewer on my mac. But when I play a video on my mac there is no sound and no mac system sounds either that comes through on my pc. I tried the switch sides on both computers and still the same result.
Also I have enabled everything needed as I’ve seen on youtube clips and the teamviewer instruction manual pdf. Plus I’ve had it for several months so I know pretty much how it works so is there something I’ve missed or is it a problem with the app? Thank you in advance for the help.
Hello Teamviewer team, I was looking through the forums as a guest ( a good way of assessing a product before investing in it) and noted with concern that the remote printing request has still not been considered for at least 2 yrs since this forum has posted it for consideration. I use a Mac (the other machines are windows) and remote printing is an important feature, to which I note the windows users have had for some time. Could you explain to me and other potential buyers, why this feature has not been considered, since the demand is there, and there is an obvious inequity in windows/ mac product features.
I would be grateful if you could be honest/frank as to the explanation for the omission. Our business needs to invest a remote access product for 6 or 7 machines and I rather not be led down a path of false promises with a software company.
